She has written four cook books and have been published throughout Indonesia. Last, we both are Scarllett magazine contributor under Recipe section.

So, with no further ado, enjoy the recipe from Wulan and catch her completely on her blog.
Ayam pop is one of Indonesian traditional food, originally from Padang - West Sumatera. It made from chicken with spices and coconut juice. As padang food usually had rich flavour, but this chicken is not. Most of padang restaurant in Indonesia has it as one of their menu. They serve it with warm rice, boiled cassava leaves and sambal.

As I live far away from my country, traditional food always tempting to make for our daily menu. And I need to let my children know about indonesian food as well. This chicken are really suitable for kids menu as it's not spicy at all. And I could mixed it up with salad as the subtitued of boiled cassava leaves. And they always ask for more when I made ayam pop :-)

6 kaffir lime leaves

6 bay leaves

1 turmeric leaf

Put all ingredients into a big pan. Let it boil.

Add the chicken and cook for about 20-30 minutes or until chicken tender.

Set aside.

You can eat directly or fried/grilled the chicken. This time i grilled the chicken so it would be dried.

It;s nice to eat with warm rice and sambal.
